As parents, we try our best to give our children the best opportunities to succeed and get ahead in life. We send them to school and let them grow academically and athletically so that they become stable and successful adults.

In this piece, we’ll talk about some easy brain games that can help improve your child’s problem-solving skills. It can help them think critically and find innovative solutions to problems.

Here’s what you need to know:

Building The Maze

This is a great game for preschoolers and has the potential to have you labeled as the coolest mom on the block. You can use cardboard boxes, masking tape, chairs, and blocks to create a maze for your preschooler in the backyard. It should be big enough for your child to walk through. However, keep in mind that cardboard mazes in the backyard tend to attract other kids in the neighborhood. So, you may end up spending an entire Sunday afternoon problem-solving with your child’s friends.

Fit The Top

This is also a quick and easy game for you to arrange for your child. All you need to do is gather all the old Tupperware you’ve stored for a rainy day, including plastic bottles, pots with lids, and other assorted containers. Next, lay out all the containers and water bottles in a row and all the lids in the other row. Now, you can ask your child to organize the containers and bottles by finding the right lids to go with the right container.

Popping and tightening the lids and caps can help fine-tune motor skills and practice spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.

Make It Move

This is a fun problem-solving game that requires your child to think creatively. You’ll need a crumpled ball of paper and some masking tape for this game. You can place the paper ball between two rows of masking tape and ask your child to move it outside the lines without touching it.

Many children can’t get enough of this game as they try to figure out how to move the paper ball. If your child feels frustrated, you can always nudge them with some clues. However, don’t do it unless you absolutely need to. You want them to stretch their mental muscles.
